QCS Staffing: A look back at 2021
What a year it has been! Let's take a look back on the strange but wonderful year of 2021 at QCS Staffing...
It was our second year living
alongside Covid-19
and as the pandemic continued from 2020 into 2021 the UK government rolled out the vaccine. Starting with the elderly and the most vulnerable to
receive the jab, and as we write this there are 46 million fully vaccinated
people in the UK. It’s an extraordinary feat that seemed impossible this time
last year. To all the people involved, we applaud you!
BUT what was 2021 like for the world of recruitment, QCS Staffing and its team. Well, despite the global uncertainty we continued to grow and welcomed
a total of 21 new starters to our team. The majority of which were onboarded remotely, which has its challenges, but our team’s inductions sessions ran
smoothly thanks to great organisation and Microsoft Teams.
And just because we were away from the office didn’t mean we
missed out; Inductions, probations and even magic shows and musical bingo were
completed via video and our team continued to flourish. Our fast-track courses continued with 26 completions, and we saw 27 company-wide promotions.
Proving the hard work continued from home.
As the year went by Covid-19 restrictions began to ease and we enjoyed our first carpark BBQ since 2019. Food and drink were enjoyed whilst David Broome announced the company’s plans for the Hybrid Working Policy – this came into action in September and the policy has
given a great balance for the team, and it’s been great to be reunited in the office again.
With the date set for team to return to the office, the IT team were full steam ahead, ensuring all of our team had new hardware and the correct equipment to do their job successfully. We couldn’t have done it without their hard work tenacity.
Charity is always a big part of our year and whether together or apart we have continued to support our local charities, in spring we took part in a walking/running challenge in honour of Captain Sir Tom Moore and we saw the return of our Halloween fundraiser for DENs homeless charity BUT our team really pulled it out of the bag; Nina shaved her head for Macmillan and The Little Princess Trust, Jade walked a million steps for Diabetes UK, Jo ran 100 miles for Breast Cancer Now and Kate ran a half marathon for Bliss. What an amazing bunch of people we work with!
And we are so grateful that our wonderful team choose to stick with us, we have celebrated some impressive milestones this year. Jan, Marcin and Kat all celebrated 10 years; Joanna, Caz and Jackie celebrated 15 years and David has been with us a whopping 20 years! Well done all. Here’s to many more years.
What I love about David is that he brings his commitment to everyone here at QCS Staffing. The wellbeing and the planning of career progression and / or promotion and the training needed to make that progress has been driven by David. His commitment and desire to create a sustainable business that can grow and continue to be successful is unquestionable. He genuinely wants everyone in the QCS Staffing family to be the best at what they do and, just as importantly, to enjoy what they do. This is an integral part of the QCS Staffing Culture and many of our work colleagues will no doubt enjoy the fruits of this investment into the future. If there were any doubt about the effectiveness of this training you only must look at the Awards we have received; The Queens Award for International Trade, The Princess Anne Training Award, numerous Herts Business Awards and just last week we were a finalist in the APSCO Recruitment Company of the Year Awards. We are undoubtedly an incredibly competent group of individuals, moulded together into tight, integrated teams, enjoying success wherever we can. Over the past 20 years David has played a very significant role in the development of QCS Staffing and off all those who work within. David, I could not have wished for a better business partner. Happy 20th anniversary 😊
Bring on 2022!
