At QCS Staffing, we believe in celebrating the milestones of our dedicated team members. Today we are celebrating Josi Pope, who has been an integral part of our company since 2015. The year "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars was topping the music charts, hoverboards were the latest tech craze, and "Jurassic World" was captivating audiences in cinemas. To mark her 10-year anniversary, we sat down with Josi to reflect on her journey, achievements, and insights.

What is your role and why did you join QCS Staffing?

Currently, I am the Talent Delivery Lead, responsible for all internal hiring for QCS Staffing's UK and US offices. This includes all positions within our business-winning team as well as our operations and back-office roles.

However, I joined back in 2015 as a Delivery Executive within our Renewables sector. Like many, I fell into recruitment without really knowing what it was. But what QCS offered, even back then, was a clear progression path and exciting opportunities. They provided stability and great prospects, which stood out to me and are still present today.

The culture, the people, the investment in the team, and the progression opportunities were already evident when I joined. It was an amazing opportunity then, and it continues to be now. QCS Staffing has always been an awesome company with great offerings and a lovely environment to work in.

And very much in line with the progression, I had an exciting journey myself over the past 10 years. Due to the companies & teams growth, I had the opportunity to progress from a Delivery Executive role into a Delivery Team Lead role, where I managed a Team of six Delivery Executives within our Renewable Energy Division for 4 years. However, in August 2021, I decided to shift back to a candidate-facing role and joined the Talent Acquisition team.

Since Josi joined 10-years ago, she has been a fantastic member of our team. Always positive and lives our values each & every day. From forming part of our early Renewables Team, to assuming a Team Lead role in our then growing Delivery Team, Josi always led by example and completed a fantastic job for our candidates and clients.  Jump forward, Josi now perfectly represents all which is great at QCS in her current role within our Talent Acquisition team. We could not wish for a better person to represent QCS when engaging with people keen on working for our team.

Josi, thank you for 10 incredible years, you are a star, and we are so very fortunate to have you as part of our team.  Congratulations!! - David Broome, CEO

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about my role is the variety it offers. I can be speaking to candidates about QCS and our exciting live roles, qualifying or headhunting. Then, just 10 minutes later, I might be joining an interview or attending different meetings with marketing or our Leadership Team, and collaborating with everyone in the company. The variety and the opportunity to work together with the team, across the whole company is what I truly enjoy.

I also love seeing the people I bring into the business succeed. Watching them grow, progress, get promotions and building a successful career is incredibly rewarding. I celebrate their achievements and take pride in knowing that my efforts in talent acquisition have contributed to their success.

So as a whole it is the Team I work with on a daily basis that make my job so enjoyable 😊

I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Josi for 9 years and during that time she’s been my peer, manager and now she sources excellent talent for my own team. Her energy is infectious, and you will always hear Josi shouting Guten Morgen when she enters the office in the morning.

Glückwunsch on your 10 year work anniversary Josi and thank you for all of your support & guidance over the years. QCS life wouldn’t be the same without you! - Kelly Shirley, Delivery Manager

What is your proudest moment at QCS Staffing?

It's tough to pick just one proud moment over the past 10 years because so much has happened. Every time I achieve something new, it feels like the proudest moment at that time. But if I had to choose, there are two that really stand out.

Firstly, I'm always super proud when I bring someone into the business whom I've been tracking for a while, especially for a critical/urgent role. Those moments when you think, "Yes, we've found an absolute gem," are special because you know they're going to make a big impact.

Secondly, my most recent promotion is a big one for me. I joined the Talent Acquisition team in 2021, but I was out of my territory for 10 months. Coming back, finding my feet again while balancing being a mum, working, and managing everything at home was challenging. Achieving that promotion was a huge moment of pride for me.

I remember Josi’s interview 10 years ago, we immediately knew she was going to be a great hire!  She most certainly was, quickly becoming a valued and key member of the team. I have had the pleasure of working closely with Josi over her 10-year career and have always been impressed with her self-motivation, her dedication to her role and how she always strives to make a positive impact.

Josi is a ball of energy, always willing to go above and beyond and offer support to all.  Hugely competitive, she will throw herself in to any situation and give it her absolute all.  Whether it is singing 99 red balloons in German, running the mud pack challenge for charity, inter team netball match or baking her tremendous apple cake for all – she is an absolute superstar and much-loved member of the team.

Thank you, Josi, for your dedication, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment over the past decade. Your contributions have been invaluable. - Joanna Belmar, Associate Director of Business Services

Do you have any words of wisdom for anyone wanting to join QCS Staffing?

Always make the most of the training we offer.

It doesn't matter what level you come in at—whether you have two years of experience, no recruitment experience, or 10-15 years. The training we offer really sets you up to build a long-standing career within the company.

Be a sponge and learn from everyone around you. Everyone is happy to help and don't be afraid to ask questions if you're unclear about something, if you want to know more or just have a chat, reach out to the Team. You'll go a long way at QCS Staffing when you do that.

So in short, make the most of it, take it all in, and learn from it and use it to shape your career!
