Celebrating Virginie Taffin's 10 Years at QCS Staffing

The year is 2014, David Cameron was prime minister, the ice bucket challenge was trending, iPhone 6 was released, Nicki Minaj released Anaconda, and QCS Staffing celebrated something closer to home – Virginie joining the team. Today we celebrate Virginie’s remarkable 10 years with QCS Staffing and we asked her a few questions about her time so far…

What is your role at Q and how has this changed over the 10 years?

Currently, I'm the Group Delivery Manager, heading up the delivery team across the UK and the US. I manage a team of about 35 people and have been in this role for the last two years. I started at QCS ten years ago as a Delivery Executive in the Life Sciences division with no recruitment experience. Over the years, I've worked on various big accounts, quickly moved into people management, and have taken on roles such as Delivery Team Leader and Delivery Manager before my current position.

When I started, my Dutch language skills were initially useful for clients based in the Netherlands, and later I used my French, Spanish, and basic German for the Life Sciences division.

I relocated from Belgium to the UK in April 2014 and was looking for a job where I could utilise my language skills. I had some internal recruitment experience and QCS Staffing needed someone with Dutch language skills for a Delivery Executive role. After the interviews, I got the job and have been here ever since.

“Working with Virginie over the past five years has been a huge privilege!  Her knowledge and expertise in all things Delivery related is unparalleled.  Virginie consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic, with a phenomenal commitment to her team and QCS Staffing.  She is approachable and always ready to lend a helping hand, creating an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated.  An inspiring leader, empowering and supporting those around her to succeed, which I have valued greatly over the last few years.  Huge congratulations to Virginie on reaching this incredible milestone!”

What has kept you here for 10 years?

The company culture, our values, and the people have been major factors. I've had many opportunities and always felt well looked after. The leaders, Dave and Spencer, have driven the business forward, focusing on staff development and creating a supportive environment. I've always loved my job, never having a day where I didn't want to come to work.

"I have been fortunate enough to work alongside Virginie for 10 years, and I can honestly say she is one of the most talented professionals I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Virginie has been instrumental in the growth and development of the delivery team, successfully managing the largest, ever-changing team at QCS Staffing with exceptional leadership, guidance and support to all. I worked very closely with Virginie for 8 years in the delivery team. She honestly made my job so enjoyable and easy, and I am incredibly proud of all her achievements which are richly deserved. Her contributions to the business are invaluable. She is hard working, reliable, trustworthy, diligent, extremely organised and always remains calm, in control and has a smile on her face. Working with Virginie over the last 10 years has been an absolute pleasure and a great laugh too. A professional superstar with a heart of gold. Here is to the next 10 years 😊"

Do you have any favourite memories at QCS Staffing ?

Definitely, the work trips to Portugal and the time we won the Queen's Award for Enterprise. A representative from the royal family came to our office, which was very formal and memorable. Celebrating our multiple big milestones for contractors in the field. The Vision and Values Days, our various awards ceremonies, and the social side of things combined with our success have created many fond memories. Celebrating the team's success, seeing their development, and being proud of my leadership team. Watching people like Kelly, who started without recruitment experience, grow, and achieve so much has been incredibly rewarding.

"Virginie’s impact over the past decade has been significant.  The ultimate professional, somebody who has our staff at the centre of all her thinking.  To take on the responsibility of our Delivery Team and following in the footsteps of Lauren was never going to be an easy task.  I would compare it to following in the footsteps of Sir Alex Fergusson and we’ve seen what has happened to Man United!  But since taking over the Delivery, the team has continued to flourish, grow, and succeed.

Virginie’s impact on those who report into her is huge, personal growth witnessed across the Engine Room colleagues and the team reflects Virginie.  A willingness to sacrifice, drive, commit and never give up.  Quality at the forefront of all that the team completes, a focus on continuous improvement and the heartbeat of Q. Our Business Winning team would not be the same without Virginie’s impact in Delivery and the wider business.  In addition, Virginie worked initially with Kiran to introduce the Recruiting Team in North America and more recently hired and supported Jess in the growth of yet another high-performing team.  Virginie’s willingness to sacrifice her own family time to complete multiple visits to North Carolina has added so much benefit to our North American team and we thank Virginie for her ongoing dedication to QCS Staffing.

She is a superstar. A true QCS Staffing legend and we salute her for being brilliant at all she has done and continues to do."

What are you most proud of at QCS Staffing?

I’m particularly proud of my team and their accomplishments. Seeing individuals develop and succeed, especially those I've closely worked with, is immensely gratifying.
