Another year draws to a close, and as the festivities continue to unravel across December, we’re feeling a bit nostalgic here at QCS Staffing. 2022 came and went in a flash, but we have experienced many memorable moments and success stories that we feel deserve to be celebrated. Here is a look back at QCS Staffing in 2022.

Growth

Can you believe that we started the year in our home offices? In January, we were still under guidance to work from home, but February 14th came soon enough, and we headed back to our Berkhamsted HQ. All together once again, we could very much feel the love this Valentine’s Day! How we’re closing the year could not be more different to how it began, and we’re pleased to say the team are mostly under one roof again (not forgetting our wonderful remote workers too).

We are proud to say we now have 97 QCS employees on our team – remote, hybrid and office based. Just this year, our fantastic Talent Acquisition Team worked their socks off and brought on a record number of new starters – 28 in fact. Our little Berkhamsted home is growing, and we could not be happier or prouder of every one of our colleague’s achievements.

Our sales team made placements with over 40 new clients this year and have been busy jet setting on more than 80 business trips across the globe. We’ve visited Raleigh, Copenhagen, Madrid and Antwerp (to name a few) which has been an exciting change of pace from the past few years of Covid-19 restrictions.

And perhaps our greatest achievement of all, this year we celebrated our 30th Birthday. From our humble beginnings as a one-man team in an office over a garage, we now partner with some of the biggest names across four life changing industries – Life Sciences, Renewable Energy, Data and IT.

Training

Investment in our people continues to be a key value at QCS Staffing, with 2022 being one of our best years yet. We have run successful inductions for 12 sets of new starters, one for every month of the year, as well as introducing some fantastic new training programmes to our impressive learning and development portfolio. The MAPSTAR training programme was introduced to members of our business winning team, and after the success of our January cohort, we rolled out the training to a new set of colleagues in November. Over the year, we delivered over 3091 hours of training to our growing team of colleagues, an impressive 27 of our team received their well-deserved promotions and we celebrated Guy’s 15-year anniversary and Andy’s 10-year anniversary too. All of the incredible effort from our team has also meant some fantastic awards received this year too. We were named 16th best mid-size company to work for in the UK, awarded ‘Excellence in People Development’ at the Herts Business Awards and received our three-star accreditation from Best Companies, making us a ‘world-class business’ to work for.

Team building

Building an environment where we can enjoy what we do is fundamental to our successes, and 2022 has been no different. Across our business trips, meals out, carpark barbecues, charity events and awards this year, we’ve well and truly bonded as a team and continue to love the jobs we do.

We celebrated St PadTrigg’s day in style, with karaoke, loaded jacket potatoes and plenty of Guinness too. In April, we celebrated our 30th birthday with a carpark barbie and cake, in October we clinked steins of beer for Oktoberfest and competed to win the scariest Halloween team costume of the year.

Our various charitable activities throughout the year have even broken the record of monies raised. We biked the Berkhamsted hills, muddled our way through mud, baked our best biscuits, moulded our moustaches and overall raised a fantastic £44,503.37 amount for our wonderful charities.

Another incredible year for QCS Staffing. Celebrating our 30th birthday, welcoming so many new faces and continuing to uncover new opportunities in the world of recruitment, 2022 has been a real pleasure. It feels fantastic to be entering retirement from my Chairmanship on a high like this. I can't wait to see what the business has in store in 2023 and beyond.

The future

The future is looking as bright as ever for QCS Staffing. As we step into 2023, we have so much to look forward to including the move for Team USA in Q1. With our brand-new office in the heart of the Raleigh Research Triangle Park secured, three employees are relocating stateside to start their new careers heading up our US operations.

We also have our hand in some emerging new markets in the Renewable Energy industry. Floating wind, green hydrogen and battery storage are revolutionising climate change, and we are proud to be on the front line by supplying the talent that will help shape our future.

We look forward to continuously supporting and growing our brilliant team, supplying our clients and candidates with the very best recruitment solutions and having much more fun into 2023. If you want to get involved and are looking for a new recruitment job for the new year, why not get in touch with us or check out our job opportunities here.

But for now, QCS Staffing wishes you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
