Senior Construction Project Manager - RTP, North Carolina - 12 Months Contract

Our client, a globally recognized pioneer in Biotechnology, are recruiting for the position of Senior Construction Project Manager. A leader in the industry, our client focuses on areas of high unmet medical need and leverages its expertise to stride for solutions. This is your chance to join them on their global mission to better the lives of those effected by disease and illness. The project at hand is for the construction of a new build biomanufacturing plant based located on the East Coast.

Essential duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Lead the full project lifecycle of a greenfield drug substance manufacturing expansion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases, driving execution excellence across design, construction, commissioning, and qualification (CQV).
  • Act as the primary interface between our client and key stakeholders, including engineering firms, general contractors, vendors, and internal leadership teams.
  • Manage project risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements in accordance with GMP, FDA, and global health authority standards.
  • Ensure seamless transition from construction to operations, facilitating training, documentation, and handover to manufacturing teams.
  • Develop and maintain cost forecasts, schedules, and progress reports, ensuring clear communication with executive leadership.
  • Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring all construction activities adhere to site and industry EHS standards.
Desirable Experience:
  • Extensive project management experience in large-scale pharmaceutical or biotech construction projects.
  • Strong background in greenfield or brownfield new builds within drug substance (biologics) manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects >$200M, with preference for candidates with $500M+ project experience.
  • End-to-end expertise in design, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging executive leadership, site teams, and external partners.
  • Polished, professional, and highly trusted to drive project success with minimal oversight.
  • Experience working with EPC firms, CQV teams, and global regulatory compliance requirements.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience managing multi-train drug substance manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of LEAN construction principles and digital project management tools.
