Application Security Consultant (DevSecOps)

New long term contract opportunity for an Application Security Consultant to join an international client, working fully remotely from the Latin America region. This role will start in November/December 2024 with an initial 6 month contract and it will probably extend for the next 2-4 years. The client will run a Teams interview for shortlisted candidates in mid-October. Candidates with have development experience with Python or Java, and must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and able to work self employed/freelance in their location.


Responsibilities will include:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive DevSecOps strategy.
  • Collaborate in the design and implementation of secure architectures for applications and infrastructure.
  • Development and implementation of advanced security automation solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and risk management.
  • Suggest security solutions to strengthen the organization's security posture.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

You will have:
  • At least five years of software development experience in web and/or mobile applications, along with a minimum of three years of experience in secure code review.
  • Candidates with experience in GitHub and Azure DevOps will be highlighted.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in two of the following languages: Python, Java, .Net, JavaScript, TypeScript.
  • Experience performing secure code reviews.
  • Experience in application and security testing technologies including static code analysis (SAST), software composition analysis (SCA), dynamic analysis (DAST), container security, and policy as code.
  • Knowledge of YAML-based pipeline configuration for defining builds and releases.
  • Familiarity with Azure Artifacts for managing and hosting artifacts like packages and dependencies.
  • Experience integrating Azure DevOps with other Azure services, such as Azure Key Vault.
