Prometheus and Grafana Consultant - Vienna - IT - 6-Month Contract 

A monitoring specialist with experience of Prometheus and Grafana is needed for a brand new role, working onsite in Valencia, Spain or fully remotely to CET time zone hours. Joining a team of other monitoring specialists, you'll help design, implement and maintain the observability infrastructure, mainly using Prometheus and Grafana but also Elastic (ELK Stack).

This is an English speaking role. The hiring team will run single stage Teams interviews in the first week of August with a view to onboard someone in September. The contract will run for an initial 6 month period but extend long term, probably 3-5 years.


Your duties will include:

• Assess current monitoring and observability setup and identify gaps.
• Design and implement Prometheus-based monitoring solutions in on-premises setup
• Configure and maintain Grafana dashboards for real-time visualization
• Integrate Prometheus with other systems and tools (e.g., Loki, Mimir, Tempo, Thanos).
• Design and implement logging solutions using Elastic (ELK Stack). 
• Develop and document monitoring and logging strategies and best practices.
• Train internal staff on the use and maintenance of Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic.
• Provide ongoing support and improvements.
• Perform other duties as required, and join the on call rota which may include one week of on call per month.

You will have:

• Proven experience in deploying and managing Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong understanding of observability concepts and best practices. 
• Experience with related technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Thanos, onpremises infrastructure). 
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with log management and tracing solutions (e.g., Loki, ELK stack, Jaeger).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong English communication skills.
