Cost Controller - Ohio - 12 months contract with potential extensions 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Cost Controller to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.

Responsibilities:
  • Support project cost control activities for the biologics capital project.
  • Work closely with A/E, CM, CQV firms, and vendors/contractors to align cost control processes with the owner’s project services model.
  • Assist in the procurement process, ensuring budget checks are performed before purchase orders and contracts are finalized. Support bid analysis with estimating resources and participate in value engineering exercises.
  • Support cost reporting and forecasting processes for site projects, including change management and internal resource forecasting.
  • Assist in the evaluation of change orders alongside estimating teams.
  • Monitor project progress, track productivity and earned value, and identify deviations from the project plan.
  • Review and verify applications for payment and invoices to ensure compliance with client requirements, facilitating timely payments to suppliers.
  • Participate in final cost account reconciliation with key members of the supply chain.
  • Contribute to risk management by identifying and evaluating risks to inform future contingency requirements.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining the SAP Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for cost accounting purposes.
Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in project controls within a construction environment; pharmaceutical project experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with valuations, sub-contractor accounts, and contract variations.
  • Understanding of construction techniques and specifications.
  • Experience working within a team and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Familiarity with financial and business issues is a plus.
