This is a fantastic opportunity for a Construction Project Manager to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain tight control of project budgets and time lines to ensure alignment with financial constraints.
- Review and validate project costs, forecasts, and cash flows to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with finance teams to track expenditures and cost trends.
- Thoroughly review change orders submitted by Flour, ensuring alignment with project scope and budget.
- Push back on unnecessary costs and negotiate with vendors to maintain financial integrity.
- Provide recommendations and strategies to mitigate the impact of changes.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management plan to address potential project challenges.
- Proactively identify project risks related to cost, schedule, and execution, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with project governance and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with internal teams, including procurement, finance, and engineering, to ensure project alignment.
- Act as the key point of contact for Flour, ensuring accountability and project delivery.
- Provide regular project updates to leadership and recommend strategic actions when necessary.
- Manage and streamline project documentation, ensuring all necessary reports, approvals, and compliance records are maintained.
- Extensive experience in construction project management within large-scale CAPEX projects ($250M+), ideally $1B+.
- Strong experience in the pharmaceutical sector, with knowledge of regulatory and GMP compliance.
- Proven track record of managing cost, schedule, and risk on complex projects.
- Experience working with EPC firms, preferably Flour or similar.
- Excellent knowledge of cost control, scheduling (Primavera/MS Project), and risk management principles
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, particularly in handling change orders.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in project management tools and reporting software.
