Capital Project Manager - Utilities - Pharma - Chicago 

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Capital Project Manager to oversee a significant capital project following the acquisition of a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the expansion of our clients global parenteral product manufacturing network, supporting the company's commitment to delivering high-quality medicines to patients.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the full lifecycle management of a capital project at the acquired manufacturing facility
  • Develop and execute project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, procurement, and regulatory affairs to achieve project objectives.
  • Oversee the selection and management of contractors and vendors involved in the project.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing capital projects in the life science industry, with a focus on pharmaceutical manufacturing. Experience in oil and gas or chemical industries may also be considered.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading capital projects with budgets exceeding $50 million.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and cGMP requirements preferred.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
