2017 has been another bumper year for the team at QCS Staffing and as we plan for what will undoubtedly be an action-packed 2018, we’ve also taken the time to reflect on the year that was. Here are just a few of our highlights:

Our charitable focus continued

For many years, the QCS Staffing team has been involved in contributing to a carefully selected group of charities. It’s one of the ways we like to give back to the community, and it’s something we encourage everyone to get involved in. This year saw us raise £6,000 for each of our three chosen charities: The Silver LineThomley and the Pepper Foundation.

Team members can raise money simply by completing day-to-day activities. Certain tasks and objectives have funds allocated that are directed towards charity - for instance, when an interview is booked or an invoice is raised, money is contributed to the charity pot. On top of this, we host regular fundraising activities to help top the pot up, including fancy dress competitions, bake sales and barbecues.

The £18,000 milestone was incredibly exciting for us, and indeed our charity partners. We’re delighted to be able to support the incredible work they do in their areas and look forward to contributing more in the new year.

We celebrated our 25th birthday

2017 marked a very special anniversary for us at QCS Staffing: We celebrated 25 years of recruitment success. When our story started in 1992, we were focused mainly on the banking, financial and mobile telecoms sectors, eventually expanding into life sciences and renewable energy to become the truly international company we are today. In those 25 years, we’ve developed enduring relationships with clients and candidates alike, helping us to grow our operation and our team. With several new awards and recognition under our belt, and plans to expand into new areas and continue to grow, we’re anticipating the next 25 years to be just as exciting.

We received some fantastic awards

This year saw us achieve some amazing things, and we are thrilled to have been recognised with several awards. At the start of the year we received 2 Star Accreditation from Best Companies, acknowledging our outstanding commitment to workforce engagement – the second-highest standard available – in just our first year of entry into the awards. With employee engagement and development such a significant focus, this was a fantastic achievement for us a business.

We’ve also been awarded Business of the Year (Medium to Large) at the Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards, as well as Large Business of the Year at the Hertfordshire Business Awards. The former highlighted our growth across the past three years, including our global reach which sees us operate in more than 20 countries. Meanwhile, the Large Business of the Year accolade was awarded due to our team’s significant growth – and plans for ongoing development – as well as our investment into the business and our people through training programmes and new areas of operation. Both awards are significant successes for us, and we feel privileged to have received such recognition of our hard work.

Our team continued to grow

As always, our ‘One Team’ ethos continued to ring true this year. Internal development is something we’ve always focused on, and we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to grow within the company and be rewarded for their effort, whatever their role. In 2017, we welcomed two groups of trainee Delivery Executives, who all undertook training through our Fast Track to Delivery Executive programme, with those wishing to move into sales roles taking part the Fast Track to Sales programme.

Watch this space

It’s been an extremely positive year for us at QCS Staffing, and we’re looking forward to carrying that success into 2018. In the meantime, we’d like to thank our candidates, clients, partners and, of course, our team, for helping to make this year one for the books.

There’s lots on the horizon for us, so stay tuned to find out what comes next!
