Mechanical Commissioning Lead - Data Centre Project - Berlin - 6-Month Contract

Our client, a global specialist in commissioning mission critical projects across all stages of a Data Centre build, are currently working on an exciting project based in Berlin.

The Project 

This is a large hyperscale Data Centre facility for the globe’s largest multinational corporation and technology company. The project has an overall MW capacity of cira 50 MW. The project is currently going through MEP fit out phase and the expertise of a mechanical commissioning lead is required for the testing of mechanical equipment such as; AHU’s, Chillers, VRF’s, BAS and a separate water storage facility.


The role

The Mechanical Lead is responsible for overseeing all mechanical aspects of assigned commissioning projects from initiation to client handover. This role involves developing mechanical test schedules, reviewing project submittals, and managing mechanical test engineers. The Mechanical Lead ensures the successful planning and execution of commissioning activities for the mechanical infrastructure of mission-critical facilities, coordinating with contractors and vendors to achieve project goals.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects of safety for all mechanical tests.
  • Oversee complete commissioning and performance acceptance testing of the mechanical infrastructure systems.
  • Assignment of testing duties and oversight of mechanical test engineers.
  • Development of all mechanical test procedures.
  • QA/QC of all mechanical test procedures.
  • L4 Functional performance testing of equipment
  • Provide input and insight to the overall commissioning plan.
  • Compile reports for the mechanical test engineers and issue a daily report to the Commissioning Project Manager.

Requirements: 
  • Minimum of 3+ years Mechanical or MEP commissioning experience
  • Data Centre experience is Pivotal
  • Hyperscale experience is highly desirable
  • 5 month initial contract, extensions highly likely
  • English speaking
  • Minimum of level 4 commissioning experience
  • ASAP start date
