R&D Scientist - Pharmaceuticals - Berkshire, UK - 12-Month Contract  

Opportunity to join a Global Pharm & Biotech company who is a leading contract manufacturer through the development and optimisation of new mammalian cell culture technologies.

This lab-based role involving designing, executing, and analysing experiments to optimise and scale-up bioprocesses for biologics production.

 
Responsibilities:
  • To maintain Pharma& Biotech as a leading contract manufacturer through the development and optimization of new mammalian cell culture technologies.
  • This lab-based role involves designing, executing, and analysing experiments to optimise and scale-up bioprocesses for biologics production.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain lab-scale bioreactors for mammalian cell culture.
  • Monitor bioprocess parameters and ensure optimal conditions for cell growth and productivity.
  • Working closely with the upstream R&D team; plan and execute several complex (non-routine) lab-scale fed-batch and perfusion bioreactor process development and optimisation.
  • Engage in routine mammalian cell culture workflows involving media preparation, revival and subculture as required for an experiment.
  • Generate experimental results and review respective scientific documentation.
  • Helps with ensuring lab procedures are adhered to and supports safety assessments.
  • Perform other lab duties as assigned.
  • General housekeeping activities or upkeep and smooth laboratory operation

Required Experience:
  • BSc or MSc Degree in Life Science/Biotechnology/Bioprcess/Biochemistry/Chemical Engineering
  • 1-2 Years industry experience within Biotechnology
  • MUST HAVE experience with CHO/Mammalian cell culture, Cell culture Media preparation, Small/Large Bioreactor operation
