Materials Manager Contract – Toulouse – Life Sciences

Our client, a global biotechnology organisation, is recruiting for a Materials Manager to join their capital project in the South of France. This new build facility will house a therapeutic protein production plant, and we are looking for a Materials Manager to help expand our client's biotech operations throughout Europe.


Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ability to make key decisions in a dynamic production environment. Ability to use negotiation skills & conflict resolution where required to maintain a positive team environment
  • Demonstrate adequately and professionally the escalation of issues / develop solutions that may jeopardise manufacturing deliverables on a timely basis. Ability to maintain a constant communication with other team members
  • Demonstrate knowledge in materials management capabilities to effectively ensure daily operational activities can be delivered effectively. If issues arise react to ensure activity adherence to achieve the production schedule
  • Good interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to enable Lean Transformation and Operational Excellence initiatives and utilise tools to continuously improve staff and the line performance
  • Ability for leading staff for next responsibility level, and train staff as required Leadership Behaviours: Exhibits Professional approach to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to promote a Plant culture by leading / involvement in cascade meetings.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous Operational / Management role in Materials Mgt in GMP Pharma company (3-5 years' experience performing warehouse activities in a cGMP commercial manufacturing environment)
  • Proven experience in managing consumables procurement, developing materials management strategy, BOM / Master Data set up, supplier engagement and QMS requirements.
  • Preferably have experience developing and managing 3PL and outsource warehousing with JIT systems.
  • Must have extensive experience with manufacturing IT systems and be highly computer literate particularly with ERP and excel.
  • Experience in scheduling in line with production needs and customer lead times.
