Functional Safety Lead - Copenhagen, Denmark - TBC

Our client, a global pharmaceutical company, are looking for a Functional Safety Lead to join their team. The company has grown to become a world leader in the development, manufacture, and marketing of innovative pharmaceutical products to alleviate some of the world’s biggest health problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Coordinate and orchestra all deliverables across relevant disciplines and ensure timely execution in projects.
  • Also includes project planning and customer alignment.
  • Must be on top of functional safety scope in the project and consider all changes impacting that scope.
  • Responsibility of ensuring that the QMS is followed when Functional Safety deliverables and activities are carried out throughout the project
  • This includes, but is not limited to, relevant reviews, client signatures, version control of documentation, assessing resource competencies, being on top of vendor documentation, ensuring relevant test activities during C&Q etc.
  • Identifying all relevant SIS resources across project organisation (E&I, AIT, HSE)
  • Plan relevant activities across all phases
  • One-point of contact towards client to ensure that client delivers pre-defined requirements and safety functions
  • Reports progress on important SIS deliverables
  • Ensures that the defined QMS for SIS is followed and adhered to
Desirable Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Functional Safety Lead or similar role, ensuring compliance with IEC61511 standards.
  • Strong background in coordinating and managing deliverables across multiple disciplines, ensuring timely project execution.
  • Extensive experience in project planning, customer alignment, and handling functional safety scope changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS) for Functional Safety, including documentation control, resource competency assessment, and vendor documentation management.
  • Proficiency in identifying and managing Safety Instrumented System (SIS) resources across project organisations, including E&I, AIT, and HSE.
  • Experience in planning activities across all project phases, ensuring alignment with client requirements and safety functions.
  • Strong communication skills to act as the primary point of contact with clients and report progress on important SIS deliverables.
