Our client are a leading developer in the industry, owning and developing projects across all major and emerging offshore wind markets. They are now recruiting with a superb new opportunity for an Commissioning Engineer to join them on an initial 2-3 years contractual basis, based in Lemvig, Denmark or Rotterdam, Netherlands.
With a significant track record of successfully delivering projects and a vast project pipeline across the UK, Europe and emerging international markets, this is an incredibly exciting time to join them in their current project.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership in supervising contractor’s activities, to ensure contractors are compliant with the HSE, Quality, Contractual and Employer’s requirements
- Participate in relevant Construction and Commissioning meetings internally and externally
- Coordination of Testing and Commissioning activities and interfaces with packages, related contractors and various team members
- Participate and supervise on Commissioning and Quality activities including; Factory Acceptance Tests, Installation works, Harbour/Site Acceptance Tests, Quality inspections and checks
- Report and follow up on Quality open points, findings and non-conformities
- Review and sign off for contractor's daily progress reports, Installation and Commissioning procedures, specifications, records, as-built documents and Quality reports
- Track and record related Commissioning activities
- Report progress updates and lookaheads
- Take the role as Nominated Person in Control of the Electrical Installation in accordance with EN 50110-1
- Support in preparing and Conducting Electrical Safety Trainings and inductions according to client HV Safety Rules
- Assess Risks and Maintain a Safe System of work during Commissioning related activities
- Basic computer operation skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and Electrical Diagrams
- Experience with wind industry safety practices
- Experience in the field of protection systems, SCADA and communication, automation technology and network operations
- A good technical understanding of the components of Electrical Power Systems e.g. HV substations, HV networks to efficiently resolve the complex problems that can be occur with these assets
- High level of fitness, being able to work in demanding physical and adverse weather and conditions
- Flexibility to meet business objectives
- Good verbal & written Communication skills – English is mandatory and preferably also in Danish
- Experience with electrical testing equipment (i.e. voltage testers, amp clamps, and various hand and power tools)
- Knowledgeable and experienced on relevant Standards and guidelines, such as EN 50110-1
