Clean/ Black Utilities Engineer – Contract – Denmark

Our global biopharmaceutical client is investing in multiple large capital projects and require the support of Clean/ Black Utilities Engineers. The role will be based on site in Denmark, in a location easily accessible from the nearest airport. This Clean and Black Utilities Engineer role is a long-term opportunity and is a superb chance to get involved with a multi-million-euro investment.

Clean/Black Utilities Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for black utility, cooling systems, steam, compressed air, gasses and/or clean utility, PW water, clean steam, process air, clean gasses.
  • Manage CIP, both unit design, and CIP distribution and CIP/SIP.
  • Act as work package owner with utility project teams.
  • Install and supervise clean/black utilities.
  • Work on FAT/SAT execution.
  • Review and generate URS.
  • Define and agree (alongside suite team leads and the project manager) the physical and procedural scope and scope boundaries, within the facility footprint.
  • Develop project schedule for the delivery of all aspects of the black/clean utilities.
  • Administer and report on the interface utilities costs within the overall project budget structures.
  • Develop, document, agree and implement an execution strategy to deliver the scope.
  • Facilitate engineering and user requirements for the utility systems.
  • Facilitate project job specification processes with A/E, the CM firm, contracting entities and end user.
Clean/Black Utilities Engineer Background:
  • BEng or BSc in any engineering or technology related discipline.
  • 8+ years’ experience in a similar Clean Facilities/Utilities role within pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with clean/black utilities design, specification, installation, and qualification.
  • Experience with black utility, cooling, steam, compressed air, gasses and/or clean utility, PW water, clean steam, process air, clean gasses.
  • Technical knowledge of black and clean utilities, systems, and equipment, and biotechnology processes.
  • Working knowledge of FDA and EU regulations (preferred).
  • Experience with CIP, both unit design, and CIP distribution and CIP/SIP.
  • Previous experience as a work package owner.
  • Experience working on FAT/SAT execution.
  • Experience working from design through to final hand over, engaging with stakeholders/ user groups/ procurement/ suppliers.
  • Experience of a similar project with a multi-million capital spend.
