Celebrating 15 years with QCS Staffing – Lauren

The year is 2009, Avatar was released, Adele won her first Grammy, Viva la Vida was the song of the year, bitcoin was launched, and QCS Staffing celebrates something closer to home, Lauren Potter joins QCS Staffing! Throughout this time, she has impressively progressed from an Admin role into a Delivery Team Leader and then to Delivery Manager. She then completed the internal pathway programme and secured the role of Associate Director for delivery team. In 2022 she transitioned across to our operations team as Associate Director, and she is now Chief Operating Officer, working closely with our talented business leaders for the following departments: Business Services, HR, IT, Marketing and Talent Acquisition. Lauren has embraced all things QCS Staffing and has proved herself as an invaluable member of the team.

 

Why did you join QCS Staffing?

"I was on the lookout for a new opportunity, and I was fortunate enough to be interviewed by QCS. The interviewers were incredibly welcoming, and the team and the environment seemed incredibly friendly. It looked like a really fun place to work, and I could genuinely see myself thriving there."

What has kept you working at QCS Staffing for 15 years?

"The investment and growth opportunities that have been provided for me have been instrumental in keeping me here for 15 years. There's been a wealth of training and development since day one, along with coaching. I've taken various career paths and have always had the support of the business to achieve my goals.

But also, the people, the team. I've managed large teams for a number of years now and seeing people in my team progress and achieve objectives and professional and personal goals that they want to achieve is extremely rewarding. It is also a whole lot of fun. We have loads of events, so I enjoy the social side of it as well. Everyone at QCS is great bunch and we are such a good team. Why would I want to leave?"

How have you seen the company grow and develop?

"When I joined in 2009, we had around 22 people. Now, we’ve grown to a team of 120! It's been a period of rapid growth with numerous changes, including the expansion of various departments, a growing network of clients, new projects, team development, and the establishment of new offices in the US. I've witnessed all of this growth; it's been an exciting journey and there's still lots to come."

 

What is your proudest moment at QCS Staffing?

"One of my proudest moments was when I transitioned from an administration role to the delivery team. Initially, someone said that it might not be the right fit for me, and the CEO at the time told me to prove that individual wrong, and I did. Another significant milestone was moving from the delivery side to the operations team three years ago. It was a big change, but it was the best change I've made, and it's been a fantastic growth opportunity."

“I have had the pleasure of working with Lauren for almost 14 years and can honestly say it has been great fun.  We have had the opportunity to work with each other on a number of projects over the years and Lauren truly lives by our values.  Lauren is a professional, caring and motivated individual with people at the centre of absolutely everything she does.  She leads by example and fly’s the flag for senior females in our workplace.

Why would you recommend QCS Staffing as a place to work?


"You’re not just a number, people genuinely care about you. You're invested in, there is training, development, progression, pathways for everybody, regardless of experience, regardless of department or industry, there is a real investment in each individual. The company genuinely cares about you, and if somebody isn't performing or achieving objectives, we do what we can to coach support and develop them to get them on the right track.

Our company operates as a cohesive unit. When one team achieves success, we all benefit. Because without the support from other functions, we wouldn't be able to achieve what we can.
